Twirl.png dodges a Bludger during a Quidditch match]] A Twirl,[1] in Quidditch, referred to the rotation of a broomstick in an attempt to dodge something, usually either a player or a Bludger.[2]
History[]
The Talirek Twirl was a method of broomstick twirling taught to sixth year Hogwarts students during the 1989–1990 school year in Flying classes by Madam Rolanda Hooch.[3]
In the Gryffindor versus Slytherin match in 1992, Gryffindor Seeker Harry Potter was forced to do a "stupid kind of twirl in midair" in order to dodge a rogue Bludger.[2]
