This unexplored passage to Hogsmeade was one of the seven passages known to the Marauders that led to Hogsmeade from Hogwarts Castle.
History[]
Judging by how it was labelled on the Marauder's Map, the Marauders never explored this passage for whatever reason. Aside from the Marauders and other owners of their Map like the Weasley twins and Harry Potter, Argus Filch knew of the existence of this passage.[1] The passage, along with the others, were sealed off at the start of the 1997–1998 school year, as told by Neville Longbottom.[2]
Appearances[]
- Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Indirectly mentioned only)
- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (Indirectly mentioned only)
- The Making of Harry Potter (Name seen on Marauder's Map)
Notes and references[]
- ↑ According to Fred and George, four of the seven passages to Hogsmeade were known to Filch. This passage most likely is not any of the other three, as all three were known to have been used, and thus explored, by the Marauders.
