This unicorn was the mate of a unicorn living in the Magical Creatures Reserve in the 1980s.[1]
Biography[]
During the 1986–1987 school year, this unicorn became the mate of another unicorn in the Dark Forest of the Magical Creatures Reserve, eventually becoming pregnant with their foal. However, this unicorn was separated from her mate when she became trapped in a nearby cave, with her mate unaware as to where she was. Her mate became extremely skittish and uncomfortable and was unwilling to leave the forest area where his mate had disappeared.[1]
Having made a wager with a friend in Hogsmeade to prove that he knew a unicorn, Rubeus Hagrid, with the aid of Jacob's sibling, Barnaby Lee, and Merula Snyde, attempted to bring this unicorn's mate into Hogsmeade in order to fulfil the wager's terms. Although they were able to help the unicorn's mate calm down temporarily, they noticed that he was still uncomfortable and had been unwilling to leave the forest, leading to them deciding to call off the wager and return the unicorn's mate home. Upon returning the unicorn back to the Dark Forest, Hagrid realised why the male unicorn had been so skittish and successfully managed to locate and free this unicorn, reuniting the mated pair. After revealing the existence of this unicorn to Jacob's sibling, Barnaby, and Merula, along with the fact that she was pregnant and would give birth soon, the four left the unicorn and her mate to have their foal in peace.[1]
