This unicorn was born sometime before 1988,[1] and inhabited the Forbidden Forest.[2]

Biography[]

It was born, presumably in the Forbidden Forest, sometime before 1988.[1] In May 1992, it was slain by Hogwarts Professor Quirinus Quirrell, so Lord Voldemort, who was possessing his body, could drink its silvery blood to return to power.[2][3] Later that night, Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy, students who were in detention at the time, encountered hooded Quirrell and the dead unicorn.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

  • In LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, this unicorn is instead shown as being nursed by Rubeus Hagrid in his hut while sick, until the trio and Draco Malfoy disturb it and cause it to run into the Forbidden Forest. Voldemort eventually approaches the unicorn with a knife and fork, but is chased away by Firenze, meaning the unicorn survives.
