This letter was written by a survivor of the Attack at Aranshire to their "dear one" during the 1890–1891 school year in response to an incident in which a swarm of Acromantulas killed several residents of the hamlet of Aranshire. The letter served as a recount of the event and a reassurance that the sender had survived, although they claimed they were so haunted by their experience of the attack that they sometimes wished they hadn't.[1]
