Fanon

Your change to the page Felix Scamander was determined to be unhelpful and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 12:46, January 16, 2016 (UTC)

Templates

Please don't create personal templates in the template namespace, that is primarily for publically usable templates. If you wish to create personal templates, you can create subpages of your userpage, which you can transclude to your userpage normally via template syntax, like so:

I've moved your personal template to here: User:Felix Scamander/Sandbox/Infobox. Thanks for understanding. --Sajuuk 16:38, April 7, 2016 (UTC)

Thank you, I'm very sorry for that! --Felix Scamander (talk) 16:55, April 7, 2016 (UTC)
No worries. However, please don't remove talkpage posts, it's a public record. I realise I linked to a non-existent page in my edit summary, the policy is here: Talkpage Policy. --Sajuuk 17:02, April 7, 2016 (UTC)

RE:Non-canonical images

Hello! Only pictures that stem from an official canon source can be used in the Harry Potter Wiki. If no canonical pictures are available (which is the case in the example you cited), then the article in question is to be left with no picture. Images that do not come from canon sources (even if said images comply with known canonical information) are regarded as fanon. Cheers! --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 20:22, April 8, 2016 (UTC)

Fair enough, thanks!

Newt Scamander's Niffler image

Why no pictures ? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Invisibility (talkcontribs) 03:56, April 13, 2016 (UTC).

Well, I forgot to add 'em. If it matters to you, you can do it yourself. --Felix Scamander (talk) 16:12, April 14, 2016 (UTC)

Talkpages

Please stop removing messages left by users on your talkpage. Read the talkpage policy. If you continue to remove talkpage posts, then I'll have no choice but to contact a sysop and ask them to block you. --Sajuuk 16:18, April 14, 2016 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't know it was a blockable offence. I just wanted to clear it up a little.

Felix Scamander (talk) 16:30, April 14, 2016 (UTC)

It's not like you have a long history of removing messages from this talk page. So far, you've removed a message twice (see this diff and this diff), and there's no reason to assume it was done knowingly and in bad faith, rather than out of an unfamiliarity with the correct way to archive a talk page.
Removing talk page posts isn't, in and of itself, something for which I'd issue a block. Failing to heed warnings and continuing to engage in disruptive behaviour (vandalism, adding fanon material, etc.) would be.
In fact, if you want to get technical, the User Policy states that "comments left on a user's talk page should not be deleted unless they are abusive and/or threatening," not "comments left on a user's talk page must never be deleted." "Should not" leaves a bit of wiggle room for users to remove messages left on their own talk pages. It's just not a practice that's encouraged, nor something that should be done excessively and for any reason. But I'd certainly never fault a user for removing a message from their talk page if they honestly felt avoiding interaction with a specific user was the only way to maintain civility or disengage from a dispute. Although, in that case, it would probably be better to immediately archive the message than delete it outright.
Anyway, there's a guide to archiving talk pages here to help you in the future. Starstuff (Owl me!) 06:42, April 18, 2016 (UTC)

Custom signatures

To create a custom signature, you can create a special page within your own userspace (for example, "User:Felix Scamander/Signature"), adding the code you want to make your signature look the way you want to it. Then go to Special:Preferences and add "" (or whatever you name your special signature page) under the "custom signature" field. Adding New Images

Hey Felix - When adding new images you need to provide an image summary, especially noting the source and license. For the recent Phoenix image you'll want to go here and click Edit
File:Phoenix-artwork-from-Harry-Potter-and-the-Chamber-of-Secrets-Jim-Kay.jpg

Then paste the following in and Publish (you can copy and paste and then modify this as needed in the future):

Summary
Your Fantastic Beasts Wiki

Hi Felix! Would you be open to merging your Fantastic Beasts wiki with the main Harry Potter wiki ? The Community Development team at Wikia will start promoting Fantastic Beasts-related content only on the main Harry Potter wiki. We will probably want to merge by Sept. 30, unless you have any objections. Let me know your thoughts -- look forward to hearing from you! Thereselovesyou (talk) 22:24, September 14, 2016 (UTC)
