Undo my edits of page Albus_Dumbledore#1996-1997

Please, I'd like that you undo all my edits of day 26 March 2014 in the page Albus_Dumbledore#1996-1997!!! Thank you and I am so sorry for that! Andre G. Dias (talk) 20:28, March 26, 2014 (UTC)

I clicked to undo the edits but the website opens the whole article's text, so I feared to screw everything up. Andre G. Dias (talk) 20:59, March 26, 2014 (Brazil)
I learned how to do, so I have already fixed and undid the edits. So, I ask to you forget about it and forgive me for the confusion. Andre G. Dias (talk) 00:20, March 29, 2014 (Brazil)

Do you have any idea what's going on with the spell infoboxes?Misskatniss1546 (talk) 03:24, April 14, 2014 (UTC)Misskatniss1546 Nevermind fixed it.

Punctuation in quotes

If the line being quoted ends in a period, the period is not included unless the quote is also the end of the sentence. If what a character said was written as "I dont care what you think.", and you wanted to include some context when quoting it, it would become "'I dont care what you think,' [context]." It wouldnt be "'I dont care what you think.' [context]. Dr. Galenos (talk) 16:32, April 20, 2014 (UTC)

My sig

It's a complex page in itself, incorporating a pic, which I haven't uploaded here, as I do relatively little in these parts. So instead it puts up the "Subst" message, but since that still identifies me, I see no reason to worry. {{SUBST:User:Jiskran/Signature}} 15:19, April 25, 2014 (UTC)

Character Infobox Guidelines On Family Members

I understand that the current policy is far too narrow!

Any relationships that have been distinctly defined should be included: Great-Aunt/Uncle/Neice/Nephew and Cousins X-Times removed should be included if they are stated explicitly or implicitly based on already known family relationships. Otherwise one is limiting the family relationships of a character being stated.

Jdogno7 (talk) 06:30, April 27, 2014 (UTC)

I've read the policy. It needs amending. Including the NOTABLITY CALUSE.

Jdogno7 (talk) 06:38, April 27, 2014 (UTC)

Fine. But I won't forget that it needs amending and I will make sure you DON'T FORGET ultimately. Understood?

Jdogno7 (talk) 06:50, April 27, 2014 (UTC)

"there are too many characters, related in too many ways, to list them all.": That's just a lame excuse for laziness.

"you can't really justify the inclusion of the wife of an Nth cousin X times removed": Family is Family.

Wizengamot forum

Have you been on the Wizengamot forum lately? There is a thread about the wiki getting a makeover possibly. There is a poll that allows you to vote; yes, no, or undecided on whether or not this wiki should be made over.

I'm all for it, I really don't like the white backdrop we have now and some other things can use improvement. Misskatniss1546 (talk) 01:42, May 19, 2014 (UTC)Misskatniss1546

Character Infobox Guidelines

I left a message on the talk page for Character Infobox Guidelines on May 5th and nobody has replied to me since! That hardly seems fair to get no acknowledgment in over a month!

"You know - you've been blocked on too many wikis for this.": What is "this" you are referring to?

A suggestion

Hey there, MinorStoop. Just thought I'd let you know, at least one recent/ongoing discussion is generally kept on one's talk page. I understand that you find Jdogno slightly annoying, but it seems to be some sort of unspoken rule. Just for future :) --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 11:13, June 18, 2014 (UTC)

Discrimination

"===Re:A suggestion===" "Slightly annoying" is an understatement, to say the least. I've had this kind of frictions with other users on other wikis - I won't say that I came out of them at the bottom, but not on top either.

Limiting myself to reverting other users' bad edits and reporting the situation to admins seems to have helped with other situations - the bad contributions have stopped, so I'm trying to do the same with J-7. Since answering him just gets me angry and does not help any, by avoiding any direct contact with him I might perhaps be useful to the wiki, save wear and tear on myself, and increase my standing with other, calmer, people here. Other than recognizing that I've got a biggish bullying streak myself, have no idea how to deal with it. MinorStoop 12:07, June 18, 2014 (UTC)":

For the record, I am humble enough to accept that I can make mistakes. But unless someone can explain to me with valid reasoning, how something is a mistake, I won't accept being in the wrong just because someone says so. That would be someone who lacks independent thought, which is not what I am.

"Since answering him just gets me angry and does not help any, by avoiding any direct contact with him I might perhaps be useful to the wiki, save wear and tear on myself, and increase my standing with other, calmer, people here. Other than recognizing that I've got a biggish bullying streak myself, have no idea how to deal with it.": Why does it get you angry? Is it because I won't agree with you? Avoiding direct contact with someone when they ask you a question about an issue, won't guarantee the issue goes away. It's better to go over all points instead of just hoping the person asking will give up. Why would this cause you wear and tear? Because I won't adhere to your wishes. I am being calm, I am just trying to understand the rationale behind your view on certain subjects that have resulted in a debate on this particular wiki."

"Other than recognizing that I've got a biggish bullying streak myself, have no idea how to deal with it.": So you admit to being a bully? Does that mean all of this is because I won't agree with you without question?

Jdogno7 (talk) 03:31, June 19, 2014 (UTC)

Realistic assessment

While it's good to recognise that you may occasionally be stubborn or bossy, in the specific case of Jdogno7 you are far from alone. He has recently been blocked on "Smallville" because of this exact unwillingness to let things go - the bulk of which is here. My recommendation would be to archive his responses, but not delete them, so you don't have to look at them, but you're not doing anything against policy. {{SUBST:User:Jiskran/Signature}} 12:52, June 19, 2014 (UTC)

Discussion

Why is it too difficult to fully discuss anything of dispute that might arise?

Ignoring an issue of dispute doesn't make it disappear.

Jdogno7 (talk) 08:19, June 24, 2014 (UTC)

I have never said I am always right. If I feel a wiki policy or guideline is flawed, I will explain how I feel it is. I am able to let go of things, I merely want to understand how I was wrong on the occasion.

Jdogno7 (talk) 03:21, June 26, 2014 (UTC)

Last thing to say: Very well, I see you have no wish to discuss anything, I can see that now.

Jdogno7

Hey, Stoop. Just wanted to let you know I've blocked Jdogno7 for three months. That should give him time to reflect on his editing behavior. --Cubs Fan (Talk to me) 04:11, June 26, 2014 (UTC)

And also, if no one's given you these yet:
Merlin Bronze Order of Merlin (Third Class)
The Order of Merlin is awarded to you by Cubs Fan2007 for having over one-thousand edits on the Harry Potter Wiki.
Merlin Silver Order of Merlin (Second Class)
The Order of Merlin is awarded to you by Cubs Fan2007 for having over two-thousand edits on the Harry Potter Wiki.

.

Yeah, I'll never understand why some people can't just suck it up and be civil. Insults and personal attacks kill the feeling of community and suck the fun out of being a contributor faster than a vacuum cleaner. --Cubs Fan (Talk to me) 06:15, June 26, 2014 (UTC)

A small piece of advice: Three months is no way near enough. --HarryPotterRules1 (talk) 19:44, June 27, 2014 (UTC)

Damn you level headed people! (I mean that sarcastically, just in case!) He should go. Ask Wikia to give a global ban to him. --HarryPotterRules1 (talk) 20:10, June 27, 2014 (UTC)

You would be referring to CestWhat. He got many a block on the Downton Abbey wiki. I believe it was someone from the Game of Thrones wiki who went to Wikia central and got a perma-block for his IP address, so he could never come back.--HarryPotterRules1 (talk) 20:15, June 27, 2014 (UTC)

RE:New theme

I concur. Although, to be honest, I don't exactly know how to change that. I'll try to find out, and then I'll get back to you. Emma Watson picture

Why did you change the Emma Watson page bio picture?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by TheUnlimitedFanPage (talkcontribs) 00:32, July 10, 2014 (UTC+1).

Most likely because you changed it without first seeking consensus as to whether the other users of this wiki think the change to be a good one. Hence Minor Stoop (correctly) changed it back to what it was; we don't do things that way here. We also don't leave messages on talk pages without signing them properly. — RobertATfm (talk) 11:06, July 10, 2014 (UTC)
Jeez, thanks. I'd appreciate not to have my talk page for answers to other people. MinorStoop 12:49, July 10, 2014 (UTC)
I for one don't believe in "wiki tennis", having to follow a discussion thread by dodging backwards and forwards between several talk pages; this is annoying and confusing. It is far better to keep the entire thread on the page on which it started. — RobertATfm (talk) 20:59, July 10, 2014 (UTC)

Note

I was trying to avoid causing an edit war, that is why I did not revert those edits again. -Adv193 (talk) 06:37, July 16, 2014 (UTC)

But other than that thanks for the help since I had to wait for someone else to do those edits, speaking of which he has the pages he vandalized on his watchlist just so you know. -Adv193 (talk) 06:43, July 16, 2014 (UTC)
Glad he's gone, but it looks like he vandalized your page as well which I figured might happen and it was also why I tipped you off about his watchlist. -Adv193 (talk) 14:13, July 16, 2014 (UTC)

Your signature

Your signature is massive. It is disruptive in that the line breaks it causes in threaded conversation make it very hard to read. Please consider adjusting it to a normal font size. John Reaves (talk) 22:02, July 19, 2014 (UTC)

Undoing an edit

dear minor stoop.

i request you undo your change to the plan to assas. albus dumbldore. thanks —The preceding unsigned comment was added by SH609PA (talkcontribs).

I have checked the article's edit history (not helped by the fact that, in addition to not signing your post, you also didn't link to the article), and see nothing wrong with the edit in question (in fact, it was very necessary, correcting either vandalism or the visual editor fouling up as usual); why should it be reverted? — RobertATfm (talk) 19:09, August 26, 2014 (UTC)
Say, Robert, who are you addressing; Shopa-whatever or me? This is, btw, one of the reasons why I do dislike people using _my_ talk page to discuss _their_ latest thread.
If it's alphabet soup, you should ask him/her and I doubt s/he will answer, given her/his contributions I could see. If it's me, I found the previous edit borderline vandalism, have no idea how willful. MinorStoop 19:33, August 26, 2014 (UTC)

I always did before. You could see this by searching my messages to other members. Just have not been reported so I probably sochel is superfluous. And the category "Humans" should be in all the papers. Articles about Muggles, werewolves, wizards. Hello

Hi! Sorry about the wizard nations pages, it wasn't my doing. My cousin wondered what would happen if I broke rules and got banned from the wiki...I forgot to turn off my computer, you see. Hard to explain. Anyway, sorry about the fuss. Please reply if you see this message, thanks —The preceding unsigned comment was added by LucretiaTaylor (talkcontribs).

RE:Thanks

You're very welcome. I have to admit, I'm twice as bad when I put my mind to it, in arguments. I'm glad the situation was resolved peacefully and objectively, and hope that such can continue to happen in future. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 16:18, December 21, 2014 (UTC)

I'm writing a fanfic. Why is Kevin Entwhistle being Muggle-born against canon? (See the page Muggle-born to see what I mean) From what part of the books did it confirm that? Many thanks! (PS The Kevin Entwhistle Page and Entwhistle family page stated that he's Muggleborn but the Muggleborn page states he's not. I'm confused. Also in the Sally Smith page it states that all Slytherin females are known - which isn't true, only the Ravenclaw girls are all known.....)

Well, well, well.

So now I know who from Harry Potter wiki was giving me a hard time on the Xenaverse wiki. I am going to ask this politely once: Back off.
