Olympe's mother

I'm guessing the article was created because Hagrid asked Olympe at the Yule ball if it was her father or mother who was a giant, I don't know though if that's enough to constitute an article for her mother. Hey, I was thinking of making a category for real-world actors who did video game voices, but I know that there is an overlap of some of the movie actors who did the voices and wasn't sure what a category could be. I've done a lot of edits on the actors pages the last couple of months and it was just an idea I had. What do you think? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 02:11, November 14, 2010 (UTC)

Increasing our online visibility

With the recent rise in new users and contributions that has been the direct result of the current Wizarding World Giveaway, I would like us to consider increasing our visibility within the HP fan community. To this end, I am tabling the following actions for consideration:

 1. The creation of some type of "affiliates program" where we can maintain links to other HP related sites and they can link back to us through mutual agreement.
 2. The setting up of an official HPW twitter feed that all administrators would be able to access and post through (or designate a member of the admin team to use).
 3. Setting up a Facebook "fan page".

The HP community on the Internet is massive, and I think we could benefit from a higher profile. As you well know, I am against turning the site into some type of social network/forum, and I don't plan for that to change. I think that by maintaining these resources off site will allow us to better channel those users who want to engage in such activities away from the wiki and into more appropriate places. For instance, the FB fan page can be used as a social forum and image host, which will allow us to direct users there instead of dealing with them on site. Thoughts? - Cavalier OneGryffindorcrest(Wizarding Wireless Network) 13:05, November 18, 2010 (UTC)

We Need Your Help For An Article About Harry Potter Wiki!

Hi Seth, Harry Potter Wiki has been getting a lot of attention thanks to the Wizarding World Giveaway and the Deathly Hallows premiere, and now a reporter from Yahoo! Movies wants to feature movie reviews from Harry Potter Wiki most passionate users in an article she's writing about the Deathly Hallows:Part 1 premiere!

Did you go to the midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1? Please help us promote the wiki by posting your expert review on the Review Page immediately... we need the reviews by 7am tomorrow morning PST. This is a HUGE opportunity to promote the wiki and everyone's hard work here.

Please post your review in the comments on the Review Page using this format if you're interested in being featured in an article and helping spread the word about Harry Potter Wiki:

Current City:

What did you do to celebrate the HP premiere?

Did you like the film? Why or why not?

What did you like or not like?

How does this film compare to the others?

Is this the best one yet?

Who gives strong performances? Who doesn't? Why?

Thank you! ---- Kacie@fandom (talk) 10:43, November 19, 2010 (UTC)

New characters/articles

Hey, Seth. I heard alot of deaths that weren't mentioned in the book coming from Ron's radio, and I didn't catch all of them and didn't bother to write them down. :P Do we have any way to get all of the names to get articles out of all of them? Thanks.--L.V.K.T.V.J.Hogwarts(Send an owl!) 02:09, November 20, 2010 (UTC)

Facebook and Twitter

Okay, our official Facebook fan page and Twitter feed are up! Any SysOps who want admin access to either should let me know through the email function; the FB can have admins, while I will provide the Twitter log-in details to you (it is set up on a separate HPW exclusive account). Links are on the main page as well. - Cavalier OneGryffindorcrest(Wizarding Wireless Network) 12:36, November 22, 2010 (UTC)

Low Res Images

A lot of the pictures recently being added to the wiki are really low res captures from Part 1. What is our policy on those? I mean, sometimes it is hard to tell what the picture is supposed to of (example: the picture of Gringotts post theft). I honestly have no idea what that picture is showing. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 19:54, November 29, 2010 (UTC)

Sorry the pic was added to 1998 Break-In of Gringotts Wizarding Bank. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 20:01, November 29, 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I don't know if you're aware, but in the Panini DH1, it's possible to see Kendra and Ariana's grave. Apparently according to the text, we must also see when Harry finds Lily's letter to Sirius in the room but I haven't found the picture yet. For information, did you also see this discussion page? Talk:Ted Tonks See you soon, --   Famini    talk    contribs   20:35, November 29, 2010 (UTC) (Thanks for correcting my wrong link on french wiki)

According to Panini sticker album too, there's indeed Viktor Krum in DH1: Krum is on the picture 111, a new image with Stanislav Ianevski. --   Famini    talk    contribs   20:30, December 2, 2010 (UTC)

What is our policy about specific duels within battles. I know we have an article for the Duel in Little Hangleton during the Return of the Dark Lord and the Duel in the Ministry Atrium during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. But there is a new one, the Duel between Bellatrix Lestrange vs. Molly Weasley? --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 02:38, November 30, 2010 (UTC)

Multiple accounts

I've been editing for the past week with my usual wikia account "Planet-man828", but then realized that all the edits I made last year were with this account, which is the one I want to keep using. I know some places have rules about users having more than one account so figured I'd clear it with an Admin ahead of time.

Also, is there any way you guys can merge the two so I can keep the record of my Planet-man828 edits under this account? No big deal if not, but I'd appreciate it if it's possible.

Thanks, --Paraknight 09:14, November 30, 2010 (UTC)

I've been wondering , do you own this site?I've you edit lots of pages and thought maybe you were the one who started it...Anyway, leave me a message on my talk page if you can! Thanks! Luna Lovegood 22:35, December 8, 2010 (UTC)18:09, November 30, 2010 (UTC)

A user moved Regulus Black to Regulus Black II, I'm not sure if I should revert the move. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 03:04, December 6, 2010 (UTC)

I was wondering the same thing, because if his page remains at II, then shouldn't Sirius's page also be moved, isn't he like the III or something.......? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 12:56, December 6, 2010 (UTC)

I have proposed a change that might satisfy some of the detractors to Unidentified lethal curse. See Talk:Unidentified lethal curse. Thanks, --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 22:26, December 7, 2010 (UTC)

I have disected all opposing arguments quite thoroughly, and demonstrated quite clearly (using the books as a reference) why Avada Kedavra could have killed Sirius. Ergo, according to this wiki's canon policy, it did. Unless you have anything further to add to the discussion, kindly delete the article. 16:30, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

Editing Policies

hey, not sure if you've noticed yet, but user, despite the policies he's been quoting to administrators about canon, so far only has made numerous edits to talk pages, and has yet to edit a single article. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 17:26, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

As I've pointed out to BachLynn, the policy only prohibits excessive forum and user page edits. But, thank you for aknowledging the productive nature of my edits. 18:03, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

Nice to meet you

Its a pleasure to meet you. I'm a bit new here, but seem to have figured out how things work on here...Except changing the font and adding a photo next to your user name :). I've just asked BachLynn23 about creating a page to list all known potion ingrediants and all known plants. BachLynn23 said that a list for potion ingrediants would be okay, but isn't sure about a list for plants. What do you think?Raindrops 242 19:12, December 11, 2010 (UTC)

Dark Arts

Hey, I had a couple of questions about the Dark Arts page I was wondering if you could clear up for me.... :-) First off there's a picture of Polyjuice potion on the page, but I do not see polyjuice potion listed as a dark potion. So if it's not a dark potion I'm thinking the picture should be removed, and if it is a dark potion then shouldn't anyone known to have brewed it be listed as known practitioners of the dark arts (i.e. Hermione and Moody). Also, on the talk page there was discussion as to whether Harry and Dolores warranted being listed, the way the talk page was left I thought it was left they shouldn't be. Now Harry probably should, I'm a little unclear why Umbridge is, I mean she only almost used crucio, when she sent the dementors after Harry they were technically under ministry control, and if the blood quill constituted as dark arts, then shouldn't the quill be listed on the page? Also didn't Minerva use Imperio on the Carrow twins in the Ravenclaw tower? Oh, and when did Dumbledore use dark arts? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 01:37, December 16, 2010 (UTC)

Hey, what's the policy on uploading pics for the use in userboxes (like animals for patronus's)? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 23:32, December 17, 2010 (UTC)

Happychickenvermin 03:09, December 19, 2010 (UTC)

Why are the Potter family listed under the Peverell family. If the Potter family were members of the Peverell family then there would be no point in having separate family categories. All families would have to be included i the one category.

some examples

Navigation templates

Hey, I was just noticing that not all the classes have navigation templates, like potions, DADA, etc. Would it be alright if I made them, I only ask in the off chance it was a project that someone else was already working on, what do you think? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 19:01, December 19, 2010 (UTC)

Hey so I made the Potions navigation template, and I've put it on pages, but I must have done something wrong because it's causing all the pages I add it to to have the category navigation templates....can you tell me what I did wrong? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 23:50, December 19, 2010 (UTC)
Haha, so like 2 minutes after I posted the question to you, I figured it out (I think), lol. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 23:51, December 19, 2010 (UTC)

Film Wizardry

User:NevilleismyHERO came to me asking about the canonicity of Harry Potter Film Wizardry. I just noticed it being used as a reference on the page Mafalda Hopkirk. Do we know if it was a licensed product, or had any JKR input? --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 04:21, December 20, 2010 (UTC)

Vomiting Charm

Hey, I dug around online for a bit and found that this charm does exist but is only on the DS version of the Lego HP game. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 17:02, December 21, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I just went through like 10 walkthough/cheat sites for this ds version, and can only find it referenced as vomitare Viridis, never the vomiting charm. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 17:10, December 21, 2010 (UTC)

Ravenclaw crest

Hey, was just wondering if there's a reason that on the Ravenclaw page the picture being used is the crest with a Raven, I put up a pic of the crest with the eagle as that is canon, but it got changed back to the Raven, I figured I'd check with you first before getting into an edit war over it. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 18:46, December 22, 2010 (UTC)

All of them are just copies of the existing pages, so I put them all as canidates for deletion, but I've just checked up on the pages, and all of the original Unidentified Death Eaters have been redirected to the canidates for deletion copies. Hey, an unregistered user just made some serious changes to Bartemius Crouch Jr.. Basically the sum of which cast doubt upon his guilt in the incapacitation of the Longbottoms. Among other things. I don't know if the user has a point or not, and I don't want to straight up revert the edit if there's some credence to it. Let me know what you think. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 15:34, December 26, 2010 (UTC)\

I'll let you handle that. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 18:16, December 26, 2010 (UTC)
I went ahead and warned the user about making such wholesale content changes without discussing them first on the talk page. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 20:18, December 26, 2010 (UTC)

Hey, that user I blocked yesterday has been hitting his talk page pretty hard to criticize the way we run this wiki, could you please defend us, since you have a better understanding of how our canon policy works than I do. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 15:19, December 27, 2010 (UTC)

Hello Seth!

I'm part of a Harry Potter Podcast (Potter Talk Radio) and we recently discovered your article about Bem. We spent quite a while talking about it and we'd just like to let you know that YOU ARE AWESOME for writing out all that info about him. Your contributions have been appreciated.

navigation templates

Hey, just wondering if you had taken a look at any of the new nav templates I've made (potions, care of magical creatures, dada and astronomy)? Also, if you have time could you take a look at my sandbox (User:BachLynn23/Sandbox), I've been playing around with doing a nav template for the Ministry of Magic. I mean maybe we don't need one and that's cool, I've been trying to make it look like a directory you might see in the lobby of a company/office building, any thoughts or suggestions? Feel free to make edits to it..... --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 18:51, December 30, 2010 (UTC)

Thank you! I really like making templates! Yea, the length I knew was an issue, but I was torn on where to split it down, I'll play around with splitting it down into seperate templates and let you know what I come up with, also I was thinking I wanted to try and to a template for Arithmancy, history of magic and muggle studies, but I wasn't sure if there was even enough information to put on templates for those classes. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 19:05, December 30, 2010 (UTC)
Hey, also, for the departments, should I list departments even if they don't have their own page, or only departments that have an article? I was sort of thinking where it's purpose is a "navigation" template that it should only list things that can be "clicked" on...... --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 19:15, December 30, 2010 (UTC)
I've found a few since, I need to update the links on the British Ministry of Magic article because a lot of the departments aren't linked, but there's still a few offices listed that don't seem to have articles:
 • Office of the Adviser to Minister
 • Office of the Junior Assistant to the Minister for Magic (the senior undersecretary has an article for the office as well as the position, but Junior asst only has one for the position)
 • Muggle Liaison Office
 • Accidental Magic Reversal Squad, Obliviator Headquarters, and Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee (these all just link back to Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes)
 • Goblin Liaison Office
 • Pest Advisory Board
 • International Magical Office of Law
 • International Magical Trading Standards Body
 • Broom Regulatory Control
 • Portkey Office
 • Lobby and Reception Area
 • Security Desk
 • The Thought Chamber, The Time Chamber, The Space Chamber, The Love Chamber a.k.a. The Ever-Locked Room (These all just link to the department of mysteries)
Also, Senior Undersecretary of The Minister of Magic's Office, shouldn't this be "to the" instead of "of the" or maybe I'm just reading it wrong (kind of tired today, lol), and should the article for the office be a little more generic, it seems to only talk about Dolores's office when she held this position. And are there any separate articles for the courtrooms? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 19:51, December 30, 2010 (UTC)
Wow, you're right, what do you think about maybe getting organised and starting a project on this, it seems to me that with the new movies and video games out that British Ministry of Magic article could probably use some cleaning up and maybe really go through all the articles related to the departments and offices making sure we have all we need and such. I've got a couple of other on-going projects I've been working slowly on but as i still don't have a job, I definitely have time to help with this. I just figure with all the contributors to the site it would be easier if we had a project started so people know what needs to be done to help...what do you think? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 20:16, December 30, 2010 (UTC)
Hey is there anything known about the Adviser to the Minister position? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 00:02, December 31, 2010 (UTC)
Sounds to me like it may have been a position created at the moment out of need. I mean in the middle of a war it would seem silly to completely sack Fudge as he could be useful, it could also just have been another way of calling him an assistant or something, but as you say there is definitely no proof whatever the position actually was that he had an office.... Oh, and made a feew changes to the templates, if you get a sec check them out let me know what you think....--BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 01:55, December 31, 2010 (UTC)
Yea I feel the same as you do about option #1, I'm still going to play around with it, I really want to come up with an option that gives us tidy and looks cool, what do you think about the employee ones? I haven't decided if I should take off the minister for magic personel completely off the main one and keep it as a seperate template, or keep it on the main one and just have a seperate template for it also.... I've been watching you work page, using it as a reference point for my templates, I just came across something though, the Magical Law Enforcement Patrol and Hit Wizards are part of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, should they be listed as separate departments on the Ministry page and templates? (oh and fyi, also feel free if you see anything on my sandbox / templates to edit feel free ;-) --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 02:16, December 31, 2010 (UTC)

Ministry nav template

I've done some more edits to the template in my sandbox. I split one into just departments, but it still seems a bit long, I was thinking of maybe switching up the style, and using a style like the staff template uses instead. I split the other into just employees, although I could still go down further on this one and do a separate one just for employees relating to the Ministry of Magic. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 20:27, December 30, 2010 (UTC)

I did the departments in 2 different styles on my sandbox, check it out, let me know which you like better, either way there's still tweaking to be done as far as the departments listed..... --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 22:35, December 30, 2010 (UTC)

Hey, I think the move you just made might make that article more confusing. From the title it is ambiguous if you are talking about the physical office in which she works, or the job position as in "she holds the office." --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 21:02, December 30, 2010 (UTC)

Hey, the Between 1998 and 2017 page list Ron as moving from WWW to the Auror office, I thought we decided he worked for the Aurors first, and then moved on the help his brother? --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 02:27, December 31, 2010 (UTC)

Voldemort Name

Hey, I just came across this edit. It says that he is called Thomas Jr in the Half Blood Prince film, but I kind of doubt that it is legit. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 06:02, December 31, 2010 (UTC)

MoM Departments nav box option 3

Good morning! So I've been working on a 3rd option this morning for the department Navigation template, and I think I've got it, so you really really need to take a look, I think this option may combine the tidiness we liked about #2 with the appearances we liked about #1....let me know!!! --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 15:26, December 31, 2010 (UTC)

Hey, maybe we should have a section for departments that are never specified what floor they are on, such as Committee on Experimental Charms...... --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 19:14, December 31, 2010 (UTC)

Office again

Hey, it appears that Senior Undersecretary of The Minister of Magic's Office and Head of the Muggle-Born Registration Commission's office are the same place. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 20:07, December 31, 2010 (UTC)

Agreed. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 20:42, December 31, 2010 (UTC)

Support staff

Bachlynn and I decided that "Minister for Magic and Support Staff" was partially redundant and moved it to Minister for Magic's support staff and focused it solely on the assistants and undersecretaries. Just a heads up for your MoM rewrite. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 05:56, January 1, 2011 (UTC)

Hey do you have a chapter art image for the tenth chapter in harry potter and the Chamber of secrets

Games and Sports

Happy New Year!!! So not that I need any more projects right now, but I was going through some articles and noticed that there are quite a few sports or game related articles but no specific info box for them (not that I found at least), and was wondering if this is something that would be worthwhile to have, what do you think? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 16:03, January 1, 2011 (UTC)

Level 3

Hi! So I know you've seen some of the latest work I've done today, and right now I'm a little stuck with what to do with Level 3 of the Ministry, as far as the department box it would look the same as Level 2, but as far as I can tell we only know of 2 employees in the entire level of department's, so what do you think I should do? 1) Combine the two templates 2) not do an employee template for level 3. OR (insert your suggestion here, lol)??? Oh, and I definitely like the changes you made to Level 2 employees! :-) --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 23:54, January 1, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I am JediBob64 and I kind of need help, because on the actual help page i cannot find how to add images or those info-template thingies. Thanks. 6:36, January 1st, 2011 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by JediBob64 (talkcontribs).

Levels 8 & 10

Hi, so what are your thoughts on the nav boxes for levels 8 and 10. Now with Level 8 (the atrium) I figure there's enough there to warrant a nav box for the level, but as far as employee's, assuming Maintenance is in fact level 8 I only know of 1 (Reginald Cattermole), now with Level 10 it is just courtrooms and as we only have an article on 1 court room and no employee's, I'm thinking Level 10 doesn't need to be broken down into smaller nav boxes? Anyways, until I hear from you I'm only going to make a Ministry Level 8 nav box (no employees one), and nothing for 10. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 14:52, January 2, 2011 (UTC)

I'm with you on Level 8 employees, I only put Maintenance on the Level 8 nav until we have prove or disprove, I'll look through book 7 in a bit, the part where Ron is disguised as Reg, maybe there's something there (or could be the movie but I haven't seen it yet, unforunately), but assuming we prove it's on Level 8, that still only leaves us with 1 employees, not much to navigate. And moving the Wizengamot to Level 10 (from level 2 emp's) seems like a good idea, so the level 10 nav box should it be Level 10 employees or just Level 10 and cover both the courtroom 10 and the Wizengamot members? Oh, and I forgot to ask, as there is a separate nav for Aurors, should I take the Aurors off the Level 2 emp nav box? I don't know why I didn't think of that when I made the box, must have had a blonde moment, lol! --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 15:56, January 2, 2011 (UTC)

Ok, so assuming I don't find anything in the book about Maintenance being on level 8, I'm thinking it gets grouped in with the departments that we don't know their location in the MoM...... I haven't checked yet, but assuming Mainteance is one, then I know of at least 2 dept's that we don't know their location within the MoM. I have to run to the store, but when I get back I'll start working on Level 10's nav boxes and merging the Aurors boxes and doing all the necessary page corrections. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 16:22, January 2, 2011 (UTC)

I just read the entire chapter when Ron and them are in the Ministry (both in the American and British versions), and nothing is said about which level the Maintenance dept is on. The entire time Ron is there he's dealing with Yaxley's office, when Harry runs into him after going through Umbridge's office he was on his way to get Bernie Pillsworth, but before that happens Arthur suggests another spell to try on the office, so he never actually goes to get Bernie, he gets off the lift before Harry and Arthur, then Arthur got out at Level 8. Also, I have all the Auror employees on the Level 2 emp's, so if you want to go ahead and delete Template:Aurors go ahead. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 18:19, January 2, 2011 (UTC)

Misc Ministry emp's

Hey, so it just occurred to me, if we do something for the Dept's that are of unknown location within the Ministry, should we also do something for all of the Emp's who we don't know specifically which dept's they work for? (i.e. Bernie and Bletchley) --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 18:32, January 2, 2011 (UTC)

Well, I'll make one up, see how it looks and all. If we use it, we do, if not, no biggie. I mean, well, do we have a category for MoM emp's of unknown dept? (like we do for Hogwarts students of unknown house)? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 18:51, January 2, 2011 (UTC)

I thought that might have been the case, I figure even if we don't end up using a nav box for them, they at the very least should have a category. Oh, and can you look at , I wasn't sure what to title it on the nav box. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 18:56, January 2, 2011 (UTC)

MoM workers with no dept identified

I went through the list, and these are the names that don't have an identified department that they work for:

Now these employee's department's are identified, but the location of their departments are not identified:

--BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 21:44, January 2, 2011 (UTC)

Here's what I have so far for the dept's of unknown levels & their emp's . Also, do you I'm still debating on nav boxes for History of Magic, Arithmancy, and Muggle studies, do you think there is too few information to warrant boxes? I mean with History of Magic, there's 1 professor, 1 classroom and 1 text book (unless I add all books related to history).......I'll work up a box for the emp's of unknown dept right now. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 22:53, January 2, 2011 (UTC)

--BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 23:01, January 2, 2011 (UTC)

When you have a moment.....

Hey when you get a sec, take a look at User:BachLynn23/Sandbox2 and tell me what you think..... --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 02:49, January 3, 2011 (UTC)

Hey, I was curious, I've noticed that classrooms have been put into a teacher's "possessions" category, can classrooms be considered someone's "possession" I mean the classrooms are a part of Hogwarts, but the teacher's don't necessarily own them, I mean I could be totally off base, I was just wondering.... :-) --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 22:02, January 3, 2011 (UTC)

Professors' houses

Perhaps I have found a hint to Professor Sinistra's house (in my opinion, at least woth a BTS mention) Could you please have a look on Forum: Professor's House? I´ve already asked Hcoknhoj, but he hasn´t answered yet.--Rodolphus 13:22, January 4, 2011 (UTC)

Hogwarts Castle project

Hi, so just wanted to touch base with you, I was looking at the Hogwarts Castle article today and noticed that it had a "needs to be cleaned up" tag, so I thought I'd tackle that, do you know if anyone else is working on it? At the same time I thought maybe I'd come up with some Nav templates to go along with it, something for each floor showing all the locations and portraits and such on each floor, I've started by going through all of the Hogwarts location articles, and am beginning to realise this may be a larger project then I first realised (lol), I'm writing up notes right now (questions will follow in the next day or so), I've noticed that some articles give conflicting information, and I have a feeling that part of that is because of locations changing between books and movies and video games, but not all of the articles reflect BTS sections explaining this. Right now I'm thinking nav templates for: Grounds, Below Ground, ground floor, 1st fl, 2nd fl, 3rd fl, 4th fl, 5th fl, 6th fl, 7th fl and Locations of unknown position in Hogwarts. I've also realised that those may not be enough per say, for instance there's the Towers that connect at multiple levels, and various staircases and corridors that connect floors, so I'm not sure where those should fit in if I do nav templates, what are your thoughts? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 01:36, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

Cool, thanks, I should be a lot more organised by this weekend (maybe, lol), I'm going to start referencing back and forth between our site and Lexicon, I have a feeling some of the discrepencies in the articles here may be because of the differences in American/British versions of the floor systems (ground floor/first floor/etc). --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 02:10, January 6, 2011 (UTC)
When you have a chance this weekend, I've started making some notes (User talk:BachLynn23/Hogwarts Castle Project). --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 02:20, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

classrooms and dormitories

Hi. I´ve created a Slytherin dormitory article. And noticed that nummerous classroom articles (fifth floor classrom, classrooms 7B,7C,6A,1A,1C,1D,1E) currently don´´t have images. Unfortunatelly, taking screenshots doesn´t work on my computer. Should we create an article for the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw dormitories? What do you think about adding an image of the Lego Ravenclaw door knocker until the last film is released.--Rodolphus 12:35, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

Abilities and Skills

I think some users are exaggerating in the Magical Abilities and Skills sections. I mean, Tom Riddle, needs to be pared down, a lot of what is listed is listed twice or three times. People are blowing Harry's abilities out of proportion too, I think. What do you think? --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 19:06, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

Skills Forum

Hey, I have been looking into the "Magical abilities and skills" sections of many of our articles, and I have found some serious problems with users going overboard, so I started a forum to see if we could standardize the rules and come up with some criteria to determine whether a character is an "Expert Duellist" or just a "Skilled Duellist." It can be found here. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 19:45, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

Keep an Eye out for Ghosts

Can I ask why you have deleted this article? It may be an explaining note, but it's the only name we have for the room, which appears on the Marauder's Map replica. I can't see the reason for deleting a page simply because there is no better name than the one given in the source.--Jpkilleen 00:30, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

Trophy room

Hi, in reference to the Hogwarts Castle article and the navigation boxes I'm creating for the castle, where should the Trophy Room be? In the books it's on the third floor, but in the movies and video games it's down a set of stairs off of the Great Hall (which I would presume if it's going down a set of stairs that it would make it located "below ground floor level", what do you think? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 17:27, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

Below ground floor

Here's what I have for the template (Template:Hogwarts below ground floor) what I have not included in the template:

Also, just to double check, the staffroom is on the ground floor? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 18:59, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

Also, should Training Grounds and Secret room near the Training Grounds be put under "grounds", "ground floor" or "first floor"? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 20:08, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

Also (again), is the Suspension Bridge entrance and Training Grounds Entrance located on the ground of first floors? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 20:49, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

Oh, and I don't know if you've noticed, but a user went through and was changing all the books so that the Titles are no longer italicised in the article names, I wasn't sure if this was ok or not, I was under the impression that book article names are supposed to be italicised, but wasn't sure. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 21:05, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

Here is a link to one such change. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 22:20, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

I'll keep that in mind from here out if I notice it happen again. It happened over such a short period of time and on so many books I wanted to be 100% sure before I did anything. I know the user who did it does try to make good edits, but in this case is probably just isn't aware of how it should be. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 22:36, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

Next set of location questions

Ground floor

Here is the template (Template:Hogwarts ground floor) I have not included on the template: Stairs/paths (beginning or ending here)

More Questions (first floor)

First floor????

Oh and the Herbology Store's article puts it on the first floor, but it also says that it is between the training rounds and greenhouses, which as we decided to put those under "grounds" would Herbology store also go under "grounds" now or should it stay on first floor? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 23:45, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

Hey, I noticed that even though there's a cattegory for letters, only a few of the letters sent in the books have article pages (ex.Percy Weasley's letter, Lily Evans's letter, Hogwarts acceptance letter). Is there a specific reason for this or should there be pages created for all the other letters?

Oh, and sorry for thebook title thing, I just thought it was weird to have an italiczied artile title. Raindrops 242 23:34, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, I'll go create some articles for the other letters. --Raindrops 242 00:08, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks! But you didn't have to worry, I have all seven books within arm's reach by my computer, for when I want to look up something while editing. Raindrops 242 00:38, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

Hey, I was about to make an article for all the mail Hermione recived in response to the article Haryy Potter's secret Heartache, and I was wondering what I should call it: "Hermione Granger's hate mail", or "Letters in response to Harry Potter's Secret Heartache", or should I call it something else interely? Raindrops 242 03:15, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, I'll use that for Hagrid's hate mail too. Raindrops 242 03:28, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

Questions second floor

Second floor locations???

Oh, and I'm assuming that the DADA's prof's office is 2nd floor as the class is on the first floor, also where exactly do we "officially" place the entrance to the Headmaster's office (canon)? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 00:50, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

Ok, so with the library, I'll definitely list it on both floors in the Nav templates, but in the "Hogwarts Castle" article, should I list it on both floors for that too? Or I could put the mini pargraph/information about it on the 3rd floor, and briefly mention it under the 4th floor section as being there too.

Also, the divination classroom is the only known 8th floor location, as her office is the only known 9th floor locations, so I was wondering where you thought I should put those, on the 7th floor with the staircase or.... And should the Northern Courtyard, Clock Tower Courtyard, and Northern Courtyard Annex be under a floor or under "grounds". And, one last question, Hogwarts East, where should that go? And believe it or not, after that, I should be good to go for awhile. :-) I really appreciate all your help today! --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 01:27, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

Possible answer to Dumbledore's office

I could simply not mention the location of the entrance in the main body of the Hogwarts Castle article, instead maybe mentioning the constant changes in the BTS section, and then simply list his office itself in the Towers section? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 01:40, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

Seth, you do know that Futurama was renewed, don't you? It was cancelled by Fox, but Comedy Central picked it up earlier this year. The whole new season can be watched here. Episode 9 - A Clockwork Origin is the best Futurama episode of all time, unless you're extremely religious! Jayden Matthews 16:52, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

A few more questions

Passage of the Fouls is supposedly adjacent to the History of Magic classroom, so if it is it's first floor? Should I include the Gargoyle Corridor in the nav temp's and Castle article, it's only appearance is in a script (cut content)? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 00:16, January 10, 2011 (UTC)

Hi, I was just wondering if the Potterwatch broadcasts in the video game adaptation of Harry Potter and the Deathly and Hallows: Part 1 are considered canon. I don't think they contradict a higher source. If they are, would they be worth creating an article on? I was thinking I could create an article on each one, and give a summary of the broadcast. Their page's titles would be: *Insert title of broadcast here* (Potterwatch), or something like that. Anyway, if they aren't considered canon, I was thinking I could still create an article on each one, but have the Non-canon header on each page, like the Educational Decrees. Thanks for any advice. --Texthawm | Send an Owl 00:18, January 10, 2011 (UTC)

Okay thanks, I think I might just do that. I'll certainly need help though. I'm still collecting all of the broadcasts in the game right now, so I can only provide transcripts for a few, but I'll add more as a I go on. Also, I'm probably going to add some of the Quibbler and Daily Prophet collectibles found in the game to the pages you mentioned in your response. Anyway, I'll probably need help with adding broadcasts from the book and films. Thanks, --Texthawm | Send an Owl 00:33, January 10, 2011 (UTC)

Hogwarts castle info box

Hey, I was wondering, right now it has an "organisation info box", but as it's about the building shouldn't it be a location info box? I could be wrong, I was just wondering. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 00:32, January 10, 2011 (UTC)

So I put Gargoyle Corridor under "unknown". Which is also where I have Serpentine corridor, at least for now because like you said, the way it's worded right now makes absolutely no sense, unless it holds some sort of shortcut or passage between floors or something. Have you checked Lexicon for it? Oh, and I changed out the info box on Hogwarts Castle, it could probably use a little tweaking, I wasn't sure what all to include in the info box. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 01:21, January 10, 2011 (UTC)

True, oh if you haven't or already, when you get a sec, I transferred my work to the Hogwarts Castle page, oh and what about Philosopher's stone chambers, I just noticed they also have an object box.....--BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 01:29, January 10, 2011 (UTC)

Potterwatch broadcasts Created

Hi. So, I created the page. I listed all of the broadcasts in the video game. I listed the passwords for a few and transcribed one. I will work on eventually transcribing all of them. It might take a while, :) Feel free to change the format of the page if you don't like how I listed the broadcasts. --Texthawm | Send an Owl 01:27, January 10, 2011 (UTC)

Cool, thanks. I would be really happy if you helped with the transcriptions. I think we should just tell one another before transcribing one. We don't want to work on one, only to find another person has just transcribed the same! :) Thanks again, Texthawm | Send an Owl 01:49, January 10, 2011 (UTC)

Ok, thanks for all your help this weekend!!! :-) --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 01:46, January 10, 2011 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed that there is an increasing amount of "letters", what do you think about having a separate info box for letters/correspondence? --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 19:18, January 10, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I figured I'd use this section to update you on what broadcasts I'm transcribing, just so we don't accidentally both transcribe the same. I'm currently transcribing:

 • An Unsavoury Appointment Yes check Done
 • Just Your Luck! Yes check Done
 • Blackout! Yes check Done
 • The Dementor's Kiss Yes check Done
 • Be Prepared! Yes check Done

Um, I don't know if you've found the Blackout! password yet, but it's really annoying me. I can't seem to make out what the password is. All the passwords seem to have something to do with the story. All I can make out is "Vase". I can't think of a vase that has anything to do with the story. When I transcribe it, I'm just going to put it as "vase", but if you can understand what he's saying, change it. Also, I was just wondering, how often are the requests for permissions checked? I applied for rollback privileges a few days ago, so, yeah, just wondering. Also, are "Order of Merlin" awards still given out? lol. Thanks,

--Texthawm | Send an Owl 20:23, January 11, 2011 (UTC)

Order of Merlin

Hey, thanks so much for Order of Merlin! And thanks for having some influence over rollback privileges being given to me! Ha ha I guess I have a lot of time on my hands to do so much transcriptions. :) Thanks again, Texthawm | Send an Owl 15:00, January 12, 2011 (UTC)

Oh and here's what I'm transcribing:

 • Back on the Airwaves Yes check Done
 • A Moment's Silence Yes check Done
 • Freedom! Yes check Done
 • Wands and Wanderers Yes check Done

Fearsome Foes is the only one left. You can do it, or I can. It's your call! --Texthawm | Send an Owl 19:48, January 12, 2011 (UTC)

It sounds like he's saying: "You said the "i" was sharp on Rapier!" But that's just me. What do you make it out to be? Anyway, I just added all the Quibbler articles in the game to the Quibbler articles page. --Texthawm | Send an Owl 20:41, January 12, 2011 (UTC)

User page problem

Hi, Seth! What's wrong with Wiki? When I wanted to look at my "followed pages" with 45 articles in my user page with the "more"-button, there are only 15 to be seen. What has happened? Harry granger 21:35, January 14, 2011 (UTC)

Hi Seth.

User: Chaser96 keeps deleting the female Slytherin player articles (Lucinda Talkalot etc) claiming it is RPG fanon. I reverted it many times, telling him or her to read the canon policy. Could you please talk to him/her?--Rodolphus 13:53, January 15, 2011 (UTC)

Dear Admins,

I don't know who is doing what and who is still active here so I am sending this to all of you. There are a few users, mainly BachLynn23 and Rodolphus that keep changing pages here with untrue facts. I have amended the Slytherin Quidditch Team page with the info that there are no female players, as Rowling states so a few times in her books and in several interviews, on the team. I also took out the spoof names in the list on the right hand side.

Two minutes later that Rodolphus changed it, I corrected it, the user changed it. It is not right that fans and those seeking correct information get mislead on here with names that were created in a fanfiction or the users own mind and may think it happened making a fool of themselves with other fans during discussions.

I have messaged the user and asked to please stop but they did not react and just amended it again. Even putting on some of the pages "Spoof only" but this has now been taken out by BachLynn23.

Maybe you can make sure the page is correct and then have it so that no one can edit it anymore, or do something about this? I am a Harry Potter expert and know every fact that is given us from the books and the great athors interviews therefore I don't really think it is nice to have false information and made up people on here.

I hope you can take care of this in one way or another as I won't continue editing as I am not in kindergarten or pre-school and most certainly those users appear to be as they re-edit true information with false and misleading information. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Chaser85 (talkcontribs).
