Hey Seth, you don't think I've gone overboard creating all those categories on births and deaths do ya? -- GrouchMan (Send an owl then scram!!) 12:38, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

Your opinion

Hi, Seth. I was wandering if I could ask your opinion on something. As an Administrator? These past few weeks, I've been working on a proposition to change the Wiki's skin. It's not quite ready yet, but it soon will be. It can be viewed here [1]. What I'd like your opinion on is - is this worth the time and effort I'm putting into it, or am I going to get burned at the stake for suggesting this. Jayden Matthews 21:47, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

Thank you so much. I really appreciate your advice, and will try to remedy the blueness. I'm trying to go for a sort of Horcrux Cave/Potion, Avada Kedavra sort of theme. I'm also working on 3-D versions of the FA DYK headers etc. Jayden Matthews 22:05, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

Young Death Eaters

Hey Seth. I wanted your opinion on something. Do you think it would be OK add this
Young Death Eaters

image to Avery, Lestrange and Mulciber? As the main image, that is? We know that they were among those boys, we just don't wich ones are which. Is it OK to add an image of muliple individuals to an infobox? Jayden Matthews 16:48, November 28, 2009 (UTC)

Rose Weasley

Unregistered registrator is on her page saying that she has a son and daughter of Scorpius Malfoy. Just if you want it to know.--Station7 15:30, November 29, 2009 (UTC)

Hi, Seth. Can I ask - do you have any experiance editing the monaco.css? Jayden Matthews 17:26, November 29, 2009 (UTC)

Not to worry. I'll persevere. It is starting to drive me slightly insane, though. Jayden Matthews 17:40, November 29, 2009 (UTC)

Hi, Seth. Can I ask you what you think about this? It's a tangiable link, I know. But, surely it's canon, without contradiction from a higher source. Jayden Matthews 21:34, November 29, 2009 (UTC)

Hello Seth. you seem to be a very knowledgable wizard, i wanted to talk about the death eaters. I am fond of death eaters as a matter of fact i wish to be a death eater. i wanted to know about Professer Snape being a death eater and a half blood prince. how was he a half blood? wouldnt the half blood be harry or Lord Voldermort? harry and Voldemort are half blood arent they? 3 questions a long to know, please visit my talk page and convince me that Snape is a half blood prince.--Darkdove 8 22:20, November 29, 2009 (UTC)TerraClair aka Darkdove 8--Darkdove 8 22:20, November 29, 2009 (UTC)

The death of Tom riddle sr.

You are the one who changed Tom riddle sr. death section of the article saying that in 1942, voldemort was 15 and killed his father, grandfather and grandmother, if Tom riddle sr was killed in 1943, how did voldemort kill him in 42? I was just wondering because I had changed the section to 1943, because Sr had died in 43, but you changed it to 42, could you explain? Ratneer 00:39, November 30, 2009 (UTC)

Your opinon

Could i get your opinon on something?

on the Mafalda Hopkirk page, she is listed as an ally of the death eaters, just because she assists Umbridge does that make her a death eater ally? --- Ratneer (Owl me) 01:42, November 30, 2009 (UTC)

Hey Seth

Red links

Recently, I've been working on cleaning out the Wanted Pages, and I'm almost done. There area a few left in some Users' talk pages and archives, including yours, and I'd like your permission to go in a fix them. If it's simply a misdirected link, I'll fix it, and if it's a deleted article/file/template, I'll either remove the brackets or put "nowiki" around it so it isn't active. If you'd like, when I'm finished I can leave you a full account of any changes I made. Thanks. - Nick O'Demus 17:25, December 3, 2009 (UTC)

Done. Here is a list of all changes:
Archive 2 - 1 userpage link fixed
Archive 4 - 2 links to deleted articles & 1 red link fixed
Archive 5 - 3 links to deleted articles
Current talk page - 1 userpage link fixed, and the Archive 5 link was going to Archive 4.

Real-world dates

Seth, I noticed that you removed dates from several articles on real people mentioned in the books and films, explaining in your edit summaries that this was because the dates are not mentioned in canon. I disagree with this reasoning, so I restored the dates, and I feel that I owe you a more detailed explanation than can be left in an edit summary.

When we're dealing with a real person, either modern or historical, who is mentioned in canon, I see no reason not to assume that real-world dates apply in the HP universe, unless a canon source throws the real-world dates into doubt. For instance, history records that Henry VIII died in 1471, but if Nearly Headless Nick claimed to have had dinner with him in 1489, this could be taken as an indication that he died later in the HP universe than he did in real life.

It's different if the identity of the historical figure mentioned in canon is ambiguous. For example, there are several historical figures named Ptolemy, and as we cannot know which of them, if any, JKR meant, we cannot know which set of dates applies.

The problem with applying an it-must-be-explicitly-mentioned-in-canon-to-be-canon standard to real-world subjects is that there's a lot of instances in which things aren't explicitly spelled out. For instance, Anglesey is mentioned in Prisoner of Azkaban, but it isn't stated to be an island off the coast of Wales. Are we to derive from this omission that it's possible that, in canon, Anglesey is, say, a town in Scotland or a mountain in Ireland?

I hope helps to clarify why I undid your edits. Starstuff (Owl me!) 18:06, December 5, 2009 (UTC)

Seth, how's it goin? I haven't heard from ya for a while now. I see Harryhe has started asking you unnecessary questions too. He HAS to be JamesVI. Jayden told me that his signature is completely identical to Fredwii's and JamesVI's signatures. I agree 100%!! What are we gonna do? We have to stop him once and for all. -- GrouchMan (Send an owl then scram!!) 02:00, December 7, 2009 (UTC)

What the heck do you (family audience)! Remember, I have created a fictional character additional to H.P! No big deal! If this is true then H.P. Wiki has been run like a kakistocracy! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by X247 (talkcontribs).
X247, what are you talking about? Seth, we need to make it so this guy can't create a new account after his old one gets blocked again. -- GrouchMan (Send an owl then scram!!) 16:57, December 7, 2009 (UTC)

Death Eaters- Graveyard

Hi, Seth. I have a question; During Voldemort's return, was one of the Death Eaters named "Calahan"? Because I've recently watched the film (HP/GOF) and I think Voldemort said:

"Thirteen years it's been, and yet, here you stand as if it were only yesterday. I confess myself... dissappointed. Not one of you tried to find me... Crabbe! Calahan, Macnair! Goyle!"

Can you answer me if it's wrong? User:Quirinus Quirrell
