Ok, I was just trying to fix a caption that says "Hermione Tensed and thinking". My spell check has American English; if I could change it to British English, I would do so, but I can't. Eievie 21:02, May 2, 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I just saw you've got an admin nomination. I wish you the best of luck. You deserve it! -ƃuıuɹoɥʇ(Send me an owl) 17:58, May 5, 2012 (UTC)

Hi Speedysnitch. Congratulations, you are now an administrator on this wiki :). You should notice shiny new buttons on pages. Let me or one of the other admins know if you have any questions. Glad to have you on the team. Cheers, grunny@talk:~$ 15:55, May 13, 2012 (UTC)

Notability Policy Discussion

Hi, Speedy! Congrats on becoming an admin. Now that you are an admin, I was wondering if you might consent to look over the User:Starstuff/Notability and perhaps even weigh in on it. Everyone that's commented on it so far has agreed that it's generally a good idea, and many agree that it's badly needed. There have even been two suggestions (mine and Seth Cooper's to pass what's already there as is, but things seem to be going nowhere fast. With all of these articles floating around about individuals barely even mentioned in passing and wands that we don't even really know anything about, the policy would really help to sift away some of the debris. But nothing will ever get done if it's just left to die. ProfessorTofty 21:16, May 16, 2012 (UTC)

I completely agree. I guess the question is now, how to promote that vote? Would it be all right to post a message on the talk page of everyone that has weighed in on the topic so far, as well as all active admins, asking them to post their thoughts on the matter / vote? ProfessorTofty 04:17, May 17, 2012 (UTC)
Thank you! And would you be willing to put in a vote too to pass the policy as it is now? That would really help out. ProfessorTofty 23:05, May 17, 2012 (UTC)

The scaly side of Pottermore

Thanks for checking over my recent edits, I thought I'd explain my reasoning behind them before asking your opinion.

I've been editing the Pottermore Wiki (already the best resource out there for Pottermore, but still little known and with room for improvement!); as part of my editing I've been adding links to this wiki to give people a chance to read up more on anything they find on Pottermore (and perhaps bringing you a few new readers).

As you probably know, Pottermore usernames are made up of two keywords with magical/Harry Potter connotations (and a number). There aren't all that many words, so I started a list (linked above), and decided to link each word here when possible (and Wikipedia for words like Eye, Ice, Sky, Midnight etc. that are very generic), and in doing so I found that a lot of items (like Key, Knight, Goblet, Mirror etc.) had multiple uses in the series, but no disambiguation page for people to see them all at a glance.

This brings me to my question: how many of the Pottermore username keywords do you think deserve an article here, and (safely assuming that they're definitely not canon) merit at least a mention in "Behind the scenes" sections?

I can see from your POV how scales are a completely random (and not notable) topic for an article (I was debating linking the Scale keyword to scale rot for a while... but I still think that the article would serve as a useful list for readers wondering what other scaly magical creatures there were that might possibly just be affected by the disease. I admit, adding all the mundane fish was perhaps going a bit too far!), but from the Pottermore perspective, players seeing someone called "SwordScale191234098" might just want to find out more about the Swords and Scales of the HP world...

If there's a better place to raise this on the wiki, then please point me in the right direction: it would be great for these two related wikis to work well alongside each other. All the best --xensyriaT 16:06, May 29, 2012 (UTC)

You work from Wikipedia's guidelines? If so, why tag (disambiguation) onto articles that don't currently have a primary topic on this wiki? Unless you're assuming that the Wikipedia primary topic is the primary topic (e.g. key), and you're filling in their gaps? Charmed in any case --xensyriaT 22:25, May 29, 2012 (UTC)
P.S. sorry to waste your time if some of the db pages I've made don't have a place here, but I'm never going to remember which magical monsters might be affected by scale rot now! :( --xensyriaT 22:31, May 29, 2012 (UTC)
Ah, thanks. Which example? (and I genuinely would like to know, so as not to have edits reverted) --xensyriaT 22:33, May 29, 2012 (UTC)
lol thanks, I have done many moons ago. I tend to prefer to find out how individual wikis differ: for example, "(disambiguation)" is like apostrophes: when people learn the rule they tend to go through a phase of using them in every case, regardless of if it's appropriate or not. --xensyriaT 22:47, May 29, 2012 (UTC)

Undoing my edits?

We must use different stylebooks for commas between independent and dependent clauses. I was taught that you only use a comma before a conjunction linking two independent clauses, not before a conjunction linking a dependent clause to an independent clause.

This appears to me to be the edits that I've been making that you've been undoing. Or is there something else you don't like me doing? Please advise.

Hi there!!

I have a question about the series: Why did voldemort want the stone? In the first book he says that he wants it to regain his body somehow. In the 4th he says that he firstly should hunt the mortal life than the immortal? (in Death Eaters chapter)?? Can you explain me please?

Admin request

Just a heads-up, I have put in a request for admin privileges. You can find the request in the usual place. ProfessorTofty (talk) 21:59, October 9, 2012 (UTC)

Not my daughter you bitch!

You have noticed that there is an unacceptable username here because The Sims Wiki gave this user a permanent ban on that site. I've contacted you and Hcoknhoj. Maybe you two can take action.

Thank you. Corymach7 (talk) 23:46, October 14, 2012 (UTC)
