Hey Guys!

I have an old account on here but I will really only be using this one. I hate getting warnings about putting incorrect material on here, but I haven't used wikia as an account for long and it's annoying because you can't argue your case about getting material and facts from a decent source (I can't spell!) like an interview with JK. Anyway, I hope people get the most from my update and I'll post soon!

Hey, it's nice to see you (well, read what you've written, but anyways..) and congratulations on your new page; it was much better than my first attempt to make one. Anyways, yeah, it's quite fun putting the blocks on there, and hopefully your profile will be just as interesting as the rest of ours soon enough. I saw what you posted on your talk page about an old account - did you mean ZRSFizzyBongs or ZRSFizzyBongs? Or was this another one :P? And by the way, I saw on your page that you had trouble referencing the facts you add to pages; for the books, films, or video games you can just make a link to the page (by putting the two brackets facing right, then the title, then two facing left, so that it ends up like Penguin) and, if it's the books, the chapter number and name. Hunnie Bunn (talk) 20:01, September 16, 2012 (UTC)

I just saw your post on the "Cleanup" blog... I don't know of any schools where you have to learn seven languages. Here in Ontario we only have to learn two, English and French. By the way, if ever you have need of a nerd to fix your spelling and grammar or to help with computer stuff, call upon Sir Cadogan. Hunnie Bunn (talk) 20:05, September 16, 2012 (UTC)

Well, seeing how most of them are spent causing trouble, they're about equal. What are your favourite subjects? Oh, and by the way, if you click the signature button (as you did before) you don't need to write your name again because it's already posted there. Hunnie Bunn (talk) 20:18, September 16, 2012 (UTC)

Wow... does your school offer all that? You're lucky... and no, your life will be sad the day you spend more time on this site and facebook than anywhere else (which is, believe or no, what happened to me). Hunnie Bunn (talk) 20:37, September 16, 2012 (UTC)

Hi! In regards to your recent edits, though I can tell the spirit of them is constructive, you are making several errors in regards to how we normally do things. Thoroughly reading over our policies would probably do you some good, especially if, as you say, you do not wish to receive many messages of similar content as this one. In particular, the in-universe POV, image policy, and layout guide may be good places to start. No one is perfect, particularly at first, so this isn't meant to be a warning or anything, just a suggestion. -- 1337star (Drop me a line!) 20:47, September 16, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, well, my school actually got into the newspaper back in 2007 for being the worst in the province. And do you go to high school, or little school, just wondering? Also, if I took the bus I could probably do it, since I'm still too young for coffee, but does that make me a good student? Hunnie Bunn (talk) 21:18, September 16, 2012 (UTC)

You seem to live quite an interesting life; however, if you don't get drunk (or so, only thrice a year) why do you need a hangover cure? Hunnie Bunn (talk) 21:33, September 16, 2012 (UTC)

Character Box

I see you've basically stolen my user box and added some more things but kept the wands and occupations. Can you not do that and try to make up your own? Rainbow Shifter (Owl Me) 17:15, September 17, 2012 (UTC)

Oh and you stole the user box that I created myself along with the wand (except you changed 16 inches to 15). Rainbow Shifter (Owl Me) 17:19, September 17, 2012 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but I simply don't think such articles are necessary, so I'm afraid I can't help you in rewriting them. Nor do I even agree that there is a particular hair colour common among pure-bloods. Yes, the Malfoys have blonde hair, but the Blacks have black hair, the Weasleys have red hair, and many brown haired pure-bloods are seen as well. -- 1337star (Drop me a line!) 17:44, September 17, 2012 (UTC)

You can alter your signature in Special:Preferences. This page discusses the process in detail, but I think it's pretty simple to figure out, personally.

As far as categories go, creating one is as simple as merely adding a page to your new category as though it already exists. This will create the category page automagically, though you can (and should) navigate to it and give it a brief description. Just a single sentence is normally sufficient. Note that, unless it's a logical continuation of the existing category tree (to use your example, a category for Hermione Granger's possessions, if it didn't already exist, would fall under this, as there are other categories for characters personal possessions already), you should discuss the creation of a new category with the community first, or you might risk having your work reverted/deleted. -- 1337star (Drop me a line!) 19:26, September 26, 2012 (UTC)

Userpage edits

Hi there! While you've been doing some good work, I noticed that you've also been making a large number of edits to your userpage. Per our editing policy, your userpage is not your primary contribution to the wiki, and your edits of it should be no more than 15% of your total edits. From a rough scan of your contributions, I would estimate that you are currently at around 25%. You may want to cut back, or else it is possible an admin may block your userpage from editing. If you have a lot of things you want to change at once, consider having them ready and make all of the changes in one go, rather than repeatedly editing it. ProfessorTofty (talk) 20:33, September 26, 2012 (UTC)

If you need a place to experiment, then you can always use the sandbox. It's set up exactly for that purpose and anyone is welcome to mess with it as much as they need to. ProfessorTofty (talk) 20:49, September 26, 2012 (UTC)

Occlumens, Legilimens, Mediwitch`

All three of these articles that you created are nothing more than copies of other articles with minor changes. There is a reason that those articles didn't already exist - everything you are posting is already covered in the articles that you copied them from. There is no need for these separate articles and I am sure that once the admins see what is happening, they will be deleted or redirected. At this point, I am going to ask that you stop creating new articles until you have a better handle on what is and isn't article-worthy, and definitely stop making pages if the pages you are making are just carbon copies of material we already have with only minor changes. ProfessorTofty (talk) 20:26, September 27, 2012 (UTC)

Your new user page

Hi, ZRSFizzyBongs! I see you like my user page. O. k., I have no problem with it. But are you really "German"? I put a userbox on it which says: "This user is from Germany" - trap snapped shut :-))) ! But I see that you have changed already to British user.

But please, change my special editcount to your name and change my signature to yours, also the user box:

"This user has been on the Harry Potter Wiki for 3 years and 27 days"

does not show your time. That's already my time. But it's nice to know that you like my user page.
Harry granger   Talk  contribs 21:17, October 4, 2012 (UTC)

No problem. I'm not angry. It's a compliment that you like my user page and it is easy to overlook things. When I can help you with your user page feel free to ask.  Harry granger   Talk  contribs 21:36, October 4, 2012 (UTC)
I had a look on your user page. I have nothing changed but I pretended to edit and looked in the source mode. There is a very very great amount of code at that place with the <tbody> thing. Perhaps you should delete this code, do NOT save, use the Preview and have a look how it looks like without the code. When it's that what you wanted you can save. Only a suggestion.  Harry granger   Talk  contribs 21:52, October 4, 2012 (UTC)
O. k., try to surprise me. I'm curious. Here it's late, too. So I must go to bed, too. Until tomorrow, perhaps.  Harry granger   Talk  contribs 22:11, October 4, 2012 (UTC)
Hey, great! And I got rid of the <tbody> thing. It is hidden in the code. You only must delete this <tbody> then it works. Great Gryffindor scarf. Thank you!  Harry granger   Talk  contribs 22:35, October 4, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the Auror scarf. That's great. I deleted some codes and your message. Now it looks good. Perhaps you want to have a look?
Harry granger   Talk  contribs 08:42, October 5, 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I found a new trap for you. I have a userbox which tells my age. Are you really 51 years and so on old? :P Beside the above mentionend and the only shortened signature. You can change my dates to your dates and my user name to your user name then you can use boxes and signature and they show the right dates and names. Could that be an option for you?  Harry granger   Talk  contribs 15:19, October 5, 2012 (UTC)

Zabini's wand

Could you please identify where you found the image you recently uploaded that is supposedly Blaise Zabini's wand? If you're not comfortable adding the relevant information to the file page (though this is something you really should learn how to do, please), at the very least please reply to this message. -- 1337star (Drop me a line!) 16:39, October 6, 2012 (UTC)

I do believe you were asking for this on Seth's talk page? Hope I helped. Hunniebunn (talk) 16:46, October 6, 2012 (UTC)

No problem, at least you've been trying to stick to the rules. Sorry I keep deleting your edits to pages and marking stuff for deletion, but I'm quite a bit stricter than the admins such as this man or sir here. If you need help with anything else feel free to owl me. Hunniebunn (talk) 16:54, October 6, 2012 (UTC)

Re. Power-cut

Hi, if there exists a scarf mixed of Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, that would be great! I like both houses. When not, no problem. But perhaps then a normal Ravenclaw scarf if you have.  Harry granger   Talk  contribs 17:51, October 6, 2012 (UTC)

I like scarf Nr. 2 and Nr. 8 but I can't see where the codes of the one scarf ends and the codes of the next scarf begin. Perhaps you can delete what's not needed and can edit the other codes? I would appreciate.  Harry granger   Talk  contribs 18:13, October 7, 2012 (UTC)
Hi, I saw your changes. Great, I corrected a code that was too much by one scarf. Now they look wonderful. Thank you.  Harry granger   Talk  contribs 18:37, October 7, 2012 (UTC)
Hi, I saw your new Ravenclaw scarf. Thank you. After deleting the unnecessary codes it looks great. And I saw the changes on your user page. You get very quick older, first 13 years, now 15 years and then the userbox with your ??? age 51 years ... ? Great, you're a wonder of the nature!!! :-))))
Harry granger   Talk  contribs 22:20, October 7, 2012 (UTC)

Hi, Fizzy! I hope you don't mind this short form. But tell me why do you always delete the name of some articles in the infobox? The name belongs to the infobox or you always get these signs: {{{ }}} like in the infobox on your user page. Please don't delete the name. Thank you.  Harry granger   Talk  contribs 20:16, October 6, 2012 (UTC)

From past experience, this problem seems to be symptomatic of the use of the visual editor. I would recommend not using this and instead editing only in source mode. ProfessorTofty (talk) 20:51, October 6, 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I saw ProfessorTofty's post. And the scarves: I am curious. Thanks.  Harry granger   Talk  contribs 17:50, October 7, 2012 (UTC)

Your user page

I want to make a suggestion: You have on your user page these templates / userboxes:

  • User age 2|year=1961|month=3|day=3 in template brackets {{ }}.
Change it to: User age 2|year=1997|month=5|day=29, then it fits with your dates.
  • User HPWikian For|year=2009|month=9|day=7 in template brackets {{ }}.
Change it to: User HPWikian For|year=2012|month=9|day=16
  • My signature = Template:Hg
You can open it to see the codes, change the codes to your name and make a new template page like Template:ZRSFizzyBongs/sig. You can also change colours. Or if you want I can do it for you.
Harry granger   Talk  contribs 19:19, October 7, 2012 (UTC)

I would say: You're eager to knowledge not perv. And from older people you can better learn things. O. k., homework is not a lovely thing. And masquerade your real dates is a good security against bad people in the internet. But which truth don't you like? And do you really mean 2 a. m.? When I understand that right that's midnight, or have I misunderstood?  Harry granger   Talk  contribs 22:42, October 7, 2012 (UTC)

RE; Signature

No problem. By the way, could you please teach me how to? I read the how-to thing, but it was way too confusing. Thanks. --Hunniebunn (talk) 19:15, October 28, 2012 (UTC)

For the little boxes on the side, like "This user is Muggle-born" and stuff, you just do {{User ________}} with the blank being replaced by whatever - a box will pop up with each letter you can type in, and by using the "preview" button you can experiment. If you mean a user infobox, it's the same as character infoboxes (such as {{Slytherin individual infobox}} of {{Ministry of Magic individual infobox}}. --Hunniebunn (talk) 19:27, October 28, 2012 (UTC)
I must add to Hunnie Bunn's explanation that you must give the name with " Template:User ________ ". The brackets do not work when creating the box. They work when you put the user box on your page.

RE:User boxes

Good luck! --Hunniebunn Talk 19:32, October 28, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks. The only bad news is, it no longer links to my profile. I could probably fix that soon, though. --Hunniebunn Talk 19:44, October 28, 2012 (UTC)
When you use this: Special:CreatePage, a box pops up. Then you can type in it: Template:User ... and press "Okay" and you have your new page and can edit it.  Harry granger   Talk   contribs 20:20, October 28, 2012 (UTC)

Okay then. Here is the code: <font face="Monotype Corsiva" size="5" color="#12GG44">Hunniebunn</font> <font face="Monotype Corsiva" size="4" color="#12GG44">Talk</font>. I type it in and then it puts in everything the way I want it; the problem is that it won't link to my page or talkpage, which is an aggravation to other users. When I put a link in to my pages, it makes the font bright blue and normal font. Thanks for trying to help me. --Hunniebunn Talk 19:53, October 28, 2012 (UTC)

RE: Fixing

Thanks :). It doesn't work yet, but I think I might have it figured out. --Hunniebunn Talk 19:59, October 28, 2012 (UTC)

Well, I think that's about it. Thanks :) --Hunniebunn (Talk) 20:11, October 28, 2012 (UTC)

RE: Making Templates

I'm afraid I don't know how to make that sort of thing - perhaps Harry granger or one of the admins will know. And "This user is a half-blood" should come up if you do {{User half-blood}}. --Hunniebunn (Talk) 20:21, October 28, 2012 (UTC)

Re: Grey feather

Probably not article-worthy, but I don't know enough about it. What is the source on it? Where can I read more about it? ProfessorTofty (talk) 16:46, November 6, 2012 (UTC)

We have pages for things like Tabby Cat and even for stuff that is merely mentioned briefly, like Dinosaur, so I say yes. Good ahead and make the page. ProfessorTofty (talk) 17:17, November 6, 2012 (UTC)
You're welcome. BTW, do you know how long that it's been on the site? Did it appear with the latest update, or has it been there longer? ProfessorTofty (talk) 17:36, November 6, 2012 (UTC)
If it was from the very latest update, then the article needs a Pottermore tag. If not, then it needs Pottermoreold. Try to figure it out if you can, but if not, then it's not a big deal, and we'll just put Pottermore for now. ProfessorTofty (talk) 17:49, November 6, 2012 (UTC)

Not at all; you're a hardworking member of our community, and even so it's common practise to administer an Order of Merlin upon the reaching of one thousand and more edits. --Remember (Least We Forget) 23:42, November 12, 2012 (UTC)

Please don't forget that when posting images you need to specify where they came from and put them into a category. You are still posting images without these. ProfessorTofty (talk) 18:50, November 15, 2012 (UTC)

It's up to you whether you do or not; if you can find any, go ahead and add them. Thanks. --Hunniebunn (talk) 21:49, November 15, 2012 (UTC)

Okay, thanks. Just wondered, do you know where in Wonderbook this article showed up? I thought perhaps from what I added on the Avis article, but I don't know... --Hunniebunn (talk) 21:57, November 15, 2012 (UTC)

Oops, sorry, just realized I didn't add a source to the Avis article... I dunno then. --Hunniebunn (talk) 21:59, November 15, 2012 (UTC)

Red links

If an established editor puts red links into a newly created or expanded article, it probably means they intend to create those pages shortly. So removing them is rather counterproductive. But I do appreciate the intent behind it, and red links from older articles should definitely be removed or pointed to the right target if the page shouldn't be made. So this isn't really a warning or anything, just a little message to key you in on the way some people, such as myself, edit. -- 1337star (Drop me a line!) 00:14, November 16, 2012 (UTC)

No problem about the link, and as can be viewed on said page there was indeed three votes. Notability is not the same as quality. My Immortal was determined to be notable because it has gained significant attention throughout a large segment of the Harry Potter. Remember, when editing the Harry Potter Wiki, we maintain a neutral point of view. And one way we do that is not using value judgments in regards to perceived quality to determine what does and doesn't get an article. Of course, this in an of itself does not mean that fan reaction isn't worth noting in the article, which is why the article itself mentions that it is widely regarded poorly for a number of reasons. RE:Qualities being deleted

When I understand you correctly these deleted traits come directly from JKR? Then it is correct to mention them, but an edit war is not a good idea. Perhaps it would be better to contact an admin for this, ProfessorTofty or Seth Cooper. Personally I think traits which come from JKR are canon.  Harry granger   Talk   contribs 16:45, December 30, 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for your edit to Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans. However, "Sweets" is a subcat of "Foods" already and we are trying to avoid redundant categories, so please do not add categories if the existing category on the page is a subcat of what you are trying to add.
