This portrait contained a hint to one of the Cursed Vaults at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry,[1] and was also a Portkey.[2]
History[]
In the 1980s, the vault portrait was stolen by Peeves. During the 1988–1989 school year, Jacob's sibling and their friends planned a series of mischief in order to please Peeves and obtain the portrait from him.[3][4][5][6][7]
Patricia Rakepick later inspected it, and told her student Curse Breaker team to prepare to face a dragon.[8]
Later that year, the vault portrait was used by Jacob's sibling, Patricia Rakepick, William Weasley, Ben Copper, Merula Snyde, Charles Weasley or Penny Haywood in order to get into the Buried Vault, as it was also a portkey. The portrait was destroyed under rubble from a partial collapse of the vault's ceiling during the battle with the dragon. The students left the vault using another portrait portkey they found in the vault's column.[2]
