Etymology[]

Versis very likely stems from the Latin verto (participle: versum), meaning "to turn".^[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Versis was one of the spells planned during duels in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (video game) on PS2, Xbox, and GameCube, but never appeared in the game. The same goes for Reversis, Cantis, and Petrificus Totalus.^[1]
