Victor Kidd was a wizard and Gryffindor student who attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the early 2010s.[3]
Biography[]
At age eleven, Victor began his education at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and was sorted into Gryffindor house. Right from the start, he began having problems with his spellwork as he was unable to master the Levitation Charm, one of the first spells taught at the school, and he rapidly lost confidence in his magical abilities, convincing himself that he was unintelligent and a failure.[3]
At some point during his first year, Professor Flitwick enlisted the help of a student who had been studying Miranda Goshawk's spell journal and could teach him and guide him.[3]
The student agreed and found Victor practising in the Great Hall. They approached him and gave him some indications from Miranda's journal, mentioning how the author of the book also had difficulties with learning magic and that some people just learn differently. They convinced Victor to try again, and they went to an empty classroom, where Victor was able to practise and master the Levitation Charm. Professor Flitwick visited them in the classroom, hoping that his progress inspired a newfound confidence.[3]
