"I do love winning... so very much."
— Viggo[src]

Viggo Victor was an arrogant young wizard who attended Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during the early 21st century.[2] He was especially talented at duelling.[3]

Biography[]

He was a student of Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he was sorted into Horned Serpent House. At some point in the 2011–2012 school year, Viggo visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where he represented his school in the Intercontinental Wizard's Cup, along with Zack Johnson and Violet Williams, as the team captain. During this event, he competed against at least six students from Mahoutokoro: Yumi Ito, Kenji Kobayashi, Tarōbō Amachi, and two other Mahoutokoro members.[2]

Upon their arrival at the Great Hall, while Violet was making friends with Ivy Warrington, Daniel Page, and another student, he and Zach brought her away unfriendlily. The three students caught up with Viggo, Zach and Violet, and when one of the three accidentally bumped into Viggo, he dared them to fight.[2]

Days afterwards, while practising spells for the intercontinental competition, he was disrupted by one of Rubeus Hagrid's missing Diricawls. He called the student, whom he dared earlier and had been recapturing all the lost Diricawls for Hagrid, over in a boisterous manner and rudely requested that the bird be removed from his practice area. The student then searched the surrounding bushes and found the Diricawl.[4]

In the first challenge, he incorrectly answered the final question, causing the team's scoring tower, the Tower of Magical Knowledge, to collapse. Viggo, enraged by the loss, stormed over to Kenji Kobayashi and claimed it was only luck that led Kenji to win first place. Robyn Thistlethwaite, a Hogwarts student, watched the scene from afar and mockingly commented that someone couldn't accept losing. Later at the American-style picnic, where he oversaw the menu, he laced Kenji's drink with something that aggravated his blood malediction, turning him into a hazardous fox-like beast. Fortunately, Headmistress McGonagall and Headmaster Senju arrived at the scene, gave Kenji a potion, and brought him to the Hospital Wing.[5]

Sometime later, the writer Rita Skeeter showed up (with her Quick-Quotes Quill) to interview each competitor for the Daily Prophet. During the interview, Viggo claimed he would be the reason for the team's victory, as leadership was in his blood. The Quick-Quotes Quill, immediately after Viggo's speech, inaccurately recorded that he was bragging about his blood, which made him furious. Rita, however, merely reacted to his anger by forbidding him from peeking and told him he would read it in the paper the next morning.[6][7] Afterwards, Viggo forced Violet to use her Metamorphmagus ability to impersonate Lottie Turner and Cassandra Vole in order to spy on the other teams. However, Violet was caught and confessed to Viggo's scheme.[8]

Before the second match, duelling, a Hogwarts student named Daniel Page informed the Hogwarts team the information from their "new spy". One of the Ilvermorny's weaknesses, according to Daniel's spy's information, was Viggo's weird tendency to twirl before casting a Banishing Charm. During the challenge, Viggo targeted one of his spells at Kevin Farrell, a competitor from the Hogwarts team who wasn't included in this particular challenge, causing him to be attacked and rendered unconscious. Robyn Thistlethwaite, noticing Kevin's condition, attempted to "flatten" Viggo but was stopped by Kenji, as her act of revenge could lead to the Hogwarts team being disqualified. Cassandra, however, cast a seemingly severe spell at Viggo, who, impressed by it, offered her a place on his team. Cassandra refused and said that she'd prefer to be on the winning team. As the challenge continued and the one-on-one match arrived, Violet decided to forfeit to the Hogwarts team, and Ivy did the same, causing Viggo to become furious.[8]

In the final task, held in the Forbidden Forest, a Hidebehind was included as part of the challenge, disguising itself as Viggo for a time. Later, when Violet became trapped in the Acromantulas' web, Viggo abandoned her without care, leaving her immobile and crying out for help from this mortal peril. Luckily, students from the Hogwarts team passed by, heard her pleas, and rescued her. As the teams raced to the chest in the forest, with victory going to whoever claimed it first, the three remaining Hogwarts members fought fiercely against Gawrloc, the chest's guardian. Daniel heroically sacrificed himself to save Cassandra, leaving him unconscious. When the remaining two let their guard down, Viggo Apparated into the scene, where Gawrloc had already been defeated, and knocked Cassandra out, leaving just one Hogwarts student standing. While Viggo boasted about deserving to win and complained about Hogwarts' weather and food, the student struck him in the face, knocking him out and securing the win for Hogwarts. After the competition ended, Hogwarts was declared the winner, and Viggo was furious.[9][10]

Due to his actions that broke the competition's rules, Karen Crowley, the Headmistress of Ilvermorny, was extremely displeased, and, according to Violet, he would be "in big trouble" when they returned to school in America.[10]

Physical description[]

Viggo had a tall and muscular figure, a broad, big face, and a large, flat nose. His hair was red in colour, and he had a large quiff pointing upwards, resembling the tail of a phoenix.[2]
