- "In the spirit of goodwill and sportsmanship, I forfeit."
- — Violet[src]
Violet Quentin Williams was a witch and a Metamorphmagus who attended Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during the early 21st century.[2] She liked sunflowers and enjoyed studying Transfiguration.[3]
Biography[]
She was a student of Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where she was sorted into Thunderbird House. At some point in the 2011–2012 school year, Violet visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where she represented her school in the Intercontinental Wizard's Cup along with Zack Johnson and Viggo Victor. During this event, she competed against at least six students from Mahoutokoro: Yumi Ito, Hanae Katō, Kenji Kobayashi, and Tarōbō Amachi, and two other Mahoutokoro members.[2]
Upon her and her friends' arrival at the Great Hall, Violet made friends with Ivy Warrington, Daniel Page, and their friend. She then showed them her pet Crup, Nono, before she was interrupted and brought away by Viggo and Zach, her unfriendly schoolmates. When the three Hogwarts students caught up with Violet, Viggo dared them to duel against Zack. However, Zack defeated and left the corridor with Viggo, leaving Violet alone with the three students.[2]
Days afterwards, Violet told the student she had met with earlier that, while she was enjoying a walk with Nono, the Crup noticed one of Rubeus Hagrid's missing Diricawls and chased after it. As a result, the Diricawl leapt into the Boathouse, where it was eventually found by the student.[4]
After the first challenge, where her school team received third place (and Viggo was furious), she met with the student again in the Hogwarts Library. This time, they were with their fellow Hogwarts team members, Kevin Farrell and Ivy Warrington. After a brief conversation about the barbecue picnic that would be held near Hagrid's Hut in the evening, she left to study for the next challenge. The Hogwarts team then decided they wanted to study with her, so they followed her path into the deeper part of the library, only to see their fellow student, Lottie Turner, who claimed not to have seen anyone pass by. However, the student in the team thought it was odd since it was the first time they had seen Lottie without her usual colour paint.[5]
Shortly after that, the unidentified student, along with Ivy and Daniel, visited the Slytherin common room to talk with Winifred Warrington, Ivy's twin, who had been avoiding and seemed afraid of Ivy. Once the discussion with Winnie had ended, Nono ran in and headed to Cassandra Vole, who led the three students into the common room. However, another Cassandra suddenly appeared and knocked out the first Cassandra. It was then revealed that the Cassandra who had led them in was actually Violet, who had transformed into Cassandra using her Metamorphmagus ability. Upon waking up from her unconscious state, everyone took Violet to the Duelling Dungeon, where she confessed that she had been forced by Viggo to spy on the other teams by transforming into Cassandra and into Lottie (earlier at the library). She expressed her guilt over doing so. Everyone forgave her, although Cassandra was slightly upset at being impersonated. Violet then encouraged the Hogwarts team and advised everyone to reconcile.[6]
During the one-on-one duelling match of the second challenge, Violet decided "in the spirit of goodwill and sportsmanship" to forfeit to the Hogwarts team, and Ivy did the same, causing Viggo to become furious. Later, Viggo scolded Violet for her forfeit and prohibited her from discussing plans with the team.[6]
In the final task, held in the Forbidden Forest, Violet became trapped in the Acromantulas' web. To make matters worse, Viggo abandoned her without a second thought, leaving her unable to move and crying out for help from this mortal peril. Students from the Hogwarts team happened to pass by, heard her cries, and rescued her. After the competition ended, Hogwarts was declared the winner, and Violet joined in to congratulate them.[7][8]
Personality and traits[]
Violet was described as cheerful, outgoing, generous, and considerate of others. She liked exploring new places. She disliked authority, paranoia, standing in line and hypocrisy.[1]
Magical abilities and skills[]
Having been selected to participate in the Intercontinental Wizard's Cup, Violet was a very talented witch.[6]
- Metamorphmagus: Violet possessed the ability to change her physical appearance at will, she was capable of changing her complete appearance to imitate others with enough accuracy to fool even close friends.[5] Violet used this ability to spy on the opposing teams of the tournament at Viggo's direction.[6]
- Duelling: As a member of the Ilvermorny team, she was skilled with a wand, enough to be selected as one of the participants in the duelling event chosen by her own team.[6]

- Wand: Violet owned a wand that was eleven and three quarters in length, made of redwood with a Thunderbird tail feather core.[1]
- Nono: Violet owned a Crup that she brought with her to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for the Intercontinental Wizard's Cup.[2]
