Virgil Fowler was a wizard who attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he was Sorted into Ravenclaw House.[1]
Biography[]
Early life[]
His parents were Death Eaters who were killed, leaving him an orphan. He went to live with his uncle, who gave him a copy of A History of Magic when he received his Hogwarts acceptance letter. He read and studied it all summer long to pass the time and it helped remind him that he didn't have to be like his parents.[1]
Hogwarts years (1986–)[]
Before the beginning of the 1986–1987 school year, Jacob's sibling was tasked to guide Virgil, Rhys Maybury and Juniper Hunt around Diagon Alley to purchase their school supplies and board the Hogwarts Express in time for the Sorting Ceremony.[1]
Jacob's sibling met him, Rhys and Juniper at King's Cross Station. He was unwilling to share anything about himself, stating that he didn't need anyone to help him prepare for Hogwarts and that he could take care of himself. Rhys stated that she would get cranky when she was hungry, and they headed to the Leaky Cauldron for breakfast. During breakfast he expressed his dislike for Puffskeins, calling them monsters that ate bogies, but helped Rhys search for her pet Puffskein Floofy when it went missing. He eventually revealed that his parents hadn't allowed him any pets as a child, since they hated all kinds of creatures.[1]
As the group started shopping for their school supplies, Virgil realised that Bathilda Bagshot was doing signings and wanted to get his copy signed. As Bathilda wasn't there yet, Jacob's sibling convinced Virgil to get the rest of the school supplies first. Virgil agreed, and the group purchased their things around the shops in Diagon Alley, with Virgil purchasing a Moke, a telescope, and a cauldron, as well as the other school supplies he needed. After the pair arrived at King's Cross Station to board the Hogwarts Express, Virgil realised that he had forgotten his copy of A History of Magic in Flourish and Blotts. Virgil and Jacob's sibling rushed back there to find Bathilda had finally arrived, and Virgil briefly talked to Bathilda whilst Jacob's siling searched for the book. Jacob's sibling found the book, and Bathilda offered to Apparate them to the train.[1]
Whilst at Hogwarts, Virgil was sorted into Ravenclaw house. He continued to keep correspondence with Bathilda, since he had impressed her with his theories of magic, and met up with Jacob's sibling again to thank them.[1]
