The vivarium was an enclosure kept in the Room of Requirement during the 1890–1891 school year. Inside was an outdoor area which housed magical beasts and other creatures.[2] Creatures could be transported into the vivarium via a nab-sack.[1]
History[]
In 1890, the new fifth-year student of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was given access to the vivarium by Deek, a Hogwarts house-elf.[1]
