A washing machine is a Muggle device used to automatically wash one's clothes.
History[]
The Dursley family owned a washing machine. Arthur Weasley managed to procure one of these devices prior to or in the summer of 1992 and attempted to charm it, which ultimately failed as the washing machine became hostile, attacking anyone who crossed it.[2]
During the 1985–1986 school year, a washing machine was in the Muggle Studies Classroom.[3]
On 27 July 1997, Nymphadora Tonks perched on the Dursley family's washing machine when she and others arrived at 4 Privet Drive to begin the Seven Potters operation.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- In LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, some of Harry's Hogwarts acceptance letters come out of the Dursley's machine.
- A washing machine appears in the video game adaptation of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, at the initial mission of the Weasley home. This is possibly the same as mentioned before.
