These waterfalls were descending flows of water through the mountainous landscape around Hogwarts Castle, that could be seen from the Quidditch pitch.
History[]
In the summer of 1995, Harry Potter came to one of these waterfalls to reflect on the return of Voldemort.[1][2]
Behind the scenes[]
- It is only known to shown to exist in films and video games. In the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, it is seen when Harry flies over it when being chased by the Hungarian Horntail, and also in an alternate ending scene to the film, which depicts Harry sitting on a stone near the waterfall; Ron and Hermione coming up to him, and the three overlooking the maze. This scene was replaced with the departure of the students of Beauxbatons and Durmstrang for an unknown reason (a fan-made petition has been created for it to be released). However, that scene is featured on the ending cutscene of the respective video game.
