Wembley Stadium, also known simply as Wembley, is a football and rugby stadium located in London, England.[2]
History[]
The England national football team played a match against Estonia at Wembley in July of 1996, securing a win. England's Sol Campbell secured his seventieth cap with the team at this match.[1]
During the Calamity in the late 2010s or early 2020s, Gareth Greengrass took a Calamity Investigator working for the Statute of Secrecy Task Force to watch Muggles playing rugby at Wembley. Although the investigator was confused by the sport, Gareth helped them better appreciate the sheer violence of the spectacle, broadening their understanding of the sporting mind.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
- The Wembley Stadium being referred to in the film prop is most certainly the modern Wembley Stadium, which officially opened 19 May 2007. The original Wembley Stadium, which was in use from 1923 to 2000, would have been the one in use at the time of the Harry Potter series.
