Wilda Griffiths was a Chaser on the Puddlemere United Quidditch team[2]. Before that, she was a Chaser for the Holyhead Harpies; her departure from the team was a sore spot for the Harpies, especially for Captain Gwenog Jones[3]. When Puddlemere and the Harpies faced off for the first time after Griffiths' move, the game turned into a riot, during which Griffiths disappeared[4].
Etymology
The meaning of the name "Wilda" is unknown, perhaps from a German surname, or perhaps from the English word wild. It has been in use since the 19th century.
