William I (c. 1028 - 1087), also known as William the Conqueror, was the first Norman King of England.[1][2]

He led the Norman conquest of England in 1066.[1][2] The wizard Armand Malfoy was among his invading army.[2] Sometime after being crowned king, William granted Malfoy a piece of land in Wiltshire, in return for questionable services which Armand had rendered him.[2]
