Zack Johnson was an American wizard who attended Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during the early 21st century. He enjoyed surfing, and his weakness was his excessive commitment to winning and losing.

Biography

He attended Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he was sorted into Wampus House. At some point in the 2011–2012 school year, Zack visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where he represented his school in the Intercontinental Wizard's Cup along with Viggo Victor and Violet Williams. During this event, he competed against at least six students from Mahoutokoro: Yumi Ito, Hanae Katō, Kenji Kobayashi, Tarōbō Amachi, and two other Mahoutokoro members.

Upon his and his friends' arrival at the Great Hall, Violet made friends with Ivy Warrington, Daniel Page, and their friend. She then showed them her pet Crup, Nono, before Zack and Viggo interrupted and brought her away. When the three Hogwarts students caught up with Violet, Viggo dared them to duel against him. However, he was defeated and left the corridor with Viggo, leaving Violet alone with the three students.

On the Saturday after the first challenge, where his school team had come third (and Viggo was furious), he joined the barbecue picnic that was held near Hagrid's Hut. During the picnic, Viggo laced Kenji's drink with something that aggravated his blood malediction, turning him into a hazardous fox-like beast. Viggo then handed the ingredients that laced the drink to Zack, who took them and fled into the Forbidden Forest.

Sometime later, the uninvited writer Rita Skeeter showed up (with her Quick-Quotes Quill) to interview each competitor, including Zack.

During the third and final challenge, held in the depths of the Forbidden Forest where competitors were tasked with finding a chest of treasure guarded by magical beasts, Zack managed to reach the chest. However, he was overpowered by the half-giant, Gawrloc, and knocked unconscious, just like Kenji from the Mahoutokoro team.

Personality and traits

Zack was described to be confident and competitive. However, he was secretly emotional and occasionally cried in secret.
